So there I am in the middle of the desert. I took the family to New Mexico to visit the in-laws and after we said hello and exchanged stories about the latest events, we sat around munching on barbecue and stared at the television. You see my wife’s parents are pretty old, and if you ask me, pretty boring. Luckily I brought my laptop so I could surf the internet while everybody else watched back to back episodes of “Law and Order.” I started looking around for fun things to do in New Mexico when I discovered this awesome website full of information on New Mexico zoos. I was intrigued. I read about the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens and the endangered Mexican Gray Wolves that live there. I learned that the Rio Grande Zoo has been around since 1927 and is home to hippos, camels, koalas and giraffes. I found out that mysterious Roswell hosts a kid-friendly zoo complete with a real-life roadrunner. Meep Meep.
